Maria Famà

Maria Famà is the author of six books of poetry. Her work appears in numerous publications and anthologies. She was a finalist and two-time Editor’s Choice winner in the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards.
Famà has read her poetry in many cities across the country, read one of her stories on National Public Radio, co-founded a video production company, and recorded her poetry for CD compilations of music and poetry. She appears reading her poems in the films Prisoners Among Us, Pipes of Peace, and La Mia Strada.
Her poems were awarded the 2002 and 2005 Aniello Lauri Award in Creative Writing. In 2006 she won the Amy Tritsch Needle Award for Poetry. Her recent books Looking For Cover (2008) and Mystics in the Family (2013) were published by Bordighera Press.
